Hydraulic conductor tensioner is used for installation Overhead Transmission Line Conductors, OPGW and earth wire with tension force. The hydraulic conductor tensioner is composed of a few main parts: Hydraulic brake system, Diesel engine, Hydraulic Pump, Hydraulic motor, Bull Wheels, Hydraulic Radiator, Main Frame, etc.
The hydraulic braking force is formed and controlled by hydraulic overflow valve on the tensioner.
The tensioner was developed with the construction of overhead transmission line from 70 years ago. The history of conductor tensioner started from mechanical friction system, then more and more hydraulic tensioners are produced and accepted by engineering people from 1970's. Although there are still some countries are using mechanical or electric tension systems, but most of main manufactures in the world are using hydraulic system for their tensioners.
